Imphal, June 09 2022:
Blue Hawk (Khurai) registered a 10-run win over WYC (Thoubal) in their Group B encounter in the 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament on Thursday.
Blue Hawk elected to bat first but they had a poor batting performance that saw their innings being cut short for 92/10 in 23.2 overs.
Sanatomba (23), Becker Roy (17), Ningombam Jackiechan (14) and Wakambam Samson (13) were the batters who could score in double figures.
The WYC bowling duo of Wangkhem Laksmon and Huirongbam Biteshwor rattled the Khurai side's batting lineup with the former claiming five scalps and the latter taking four wickets as Khundrakpam James chipped in with one.
Despite their poor batting display, Blue Hawk successfully defended their low total, thanks to Gautam Soubam.
Gautam's fiery spell of 4.4 overs earned him incredible figures of six wickets for nine runs to help his side have the last laugh as WYC were bundled out for 82 in 27.4 overs.
Sunil Salam and Mutum Pri tam got one wicket each.
Priyobrata Moirangthem (22) and Wangkhem Sha-mungou (20) were notable run-getters in YWC's defeat.
Gautam Soubam walked away with the man-of-the match award.
TRAU and PTRC will be up against each other on Friday.
