RCA, KASC seal victories in MNCA Superplate tourney

RCA (Lilong) and KASC (Khomidok) registered contrasting victories in the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25 on Sunday.
RCA made light work of YUCC (Kwakeithel Moirangpurel) by securing an 85-run win over their opponents at Model Hr Sec & Oriental College Ground.
Opting to bat first, RCA set a challenging target of 205/8 in their allotted 35 overs.
Naesh Hussain led the charge with an impressive 55, supported by key contributions from Syed Hussain (38), Md Alfash (23), Md Safwan Ahamed (20), Mohd Nasirshah Alam Nongjaimayum (14), and Md Imran Khan (12) .
YUCC's Kadamjit Moirangthem stood out with a commendable four-wicket haul, while Shyam picked up two wickets, and Somraj Laishram and Laishram Biskash chipped in with one each.
In response, YUCC's batting faltered, bowled out for 120 in 30.4 overs.
Kadamjit Moirangthem offered some resistance with a top score of 35.RCA's bowlers dominated the innings, with Zamir Khan claiming three wickets.
Aziz Mirza and Naesh Hussain bagged two each, while Nawaz Sarif, Syed Hussain, and Safwan Ahamed took one apiece, sealing RCA's emphatic victory.
Meanwhile, Thoubal, KASC defeated WYC by 20 runs in a closely contested encounter at Moijing Public Ground.
Batting first, KASC posted 177/9, driven by Washim Akram's explosive 91 off just 44 balls and WM Rajak's solid 49.Qurshid Alam added 16 to their scoresheet.
In the process, they lost four wickets to Ruhit Nongmaithem and three to Mangi Sharma Gotimayum.
In reply, WYC managed 157 before being bowled out in 31.5 overs.
KASC's bowlers delivered a well-rounded performance, with Qurshid Alam and Khulakpam Rahish Khan sharing six wickets between them.
Muhammad Javed Aktar and Mdalfash contributed with two wickets each, ensuring their team's triumph.
Mangi Sharma scored a fighting 36 in their futile run chase.
