Felicitation programme of PTA players held

Players of Pakhangba Taekwondo Academy (PTA) who brought home many medals from the Kimungyong Open Taekwondo Championship which was held from March 28 to 31 at DRTP Indoor Stadium, Guwahati under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India, were given a warm reception today along with the officials who accompanied them at the hall of the academy at Sega Road.
Pakhang Taekwondo Association claimed a total of 9 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 10 bronze medals at the said championship.
The players who fetched gold medal (Kyurogi events) at the championship are L Linthoingambi (U-16 kg); Kh Quana Chanu (U-35 kg); Kh Mangal Meitei (U-21 kg); S Tondonba Singh (U-25 kg); L Surchandra (U-27 kg); T Rejiya Chanu (U-37 kg-Cadet); Kh Linthoi (U-62 kg- Junior); S Beckham Singh (U-59 kg-Junior) and N Bimolchand (U-63 kg-Senior) .
Sh Borish (U-38 kg); S Priyokumar (U-41 kg); M Grabita Devi (U-73 kg- Senior) were the kyurogi silver medallists.
In the poomsae events, the pair of Kh Linthoi and Jetlee Ch clinched a silver medal while S Bekham Meitei clinched another silver medal in the junior individual event making it a total of 5 silver medals for the academy.
Shine T (U-24 kg); Lanchenba K (U-47 kg); L Newzealand (U-41 kg); Kh Chanchan (U-41 kg- Cadet); L Reeya Devi (U-42 kg- Junior); Kh tutu Devi (U-44 kg-Junior); Jetlee Ch (U-63 kg-Junior) were able to claim Kyurogi bronze medals at the championship while Kh Linthoi (Jr), Jetlee Ch and the sub-jr pair of Bidyananda Ph and Kh Quana Chanu were able to bag poomsae bronze medals.
