Veteran T20: YPHU, SHADOW score easy wins

Imphal, February 06 2024: YPHU, Lalambung and SHADOW, Thangmeiband registered wins against in league matches of the 11th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground on Tuesday.

In the first match, YPHU crushed SNC, Sangaiprou by 9 wickets as Boicha (52), Alai (38 not) and Hemanta (27 not out) made light of the rivals' bowling attack.

Opting to bat first, SNC scored 125 for 7 wickets in the allotted overs riding on vital knocks from Romeshchandra (66) and M Ranendrajit (20) .

For YPHU, Gyanaranjan and Romio claimed two wickets as Surjit, Boicha and Dularva took one each.

YPHU overhauled the target in just 12 over losing one wicket in the process claimed by Suraj.

Boicha, who scored 52 runs and took one wicket in 4 overs, was adjudged Man of the Match.

In the second match, SHADOW trounced YUCC, Moirangpurel by 43 runs after setting a target of 179 for the loss of 3 wickets.

Dhaneshor (92 not out) and Nongdrenkhomba (41) were the major run getters for SHADOW, while YUCC's Tomba scalped 2 wickets and Manikumar got one.

Chasing the target, YUCC could only muster 136/7 in 20 overs as contribution of Somorjit (44) and Raju (35) went in vain.

Avha and Dhawan with 2 wickets each and Bedamohon with one wicket were the main bowlers for the SHADOW.

Dhaneshor (92 not out in 57 balls) was awarded the Man of the Match title.
