Thang-Ta demonstrated in World Martial Arts Festival

Imphal, September 04 2014: The indigenous martial arts of Manipur, Thang-Ta, had been exhibited during the Chungju World Martial Arts Festival organized by World Martial Arts Union, South Korea at Chungju Gymnasium (Indoor Stadium) in Republic of Korea from August 28 to September 1 .

State Thang-Ta player, Hepari bagged gold medal for India in 48 Kg category of the festival.

The Indian team, which included 65 men players, 32 women players and 14 officials, was guided by H Premkumar Singh and N.Jiban Singh as Head Coach and Team Coach respectively.

The festival was participated by players from 10 countries namely, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Ukrain and India.
