Police beat ARC spikers in title clash

Imphal, January 04 2014 : MPSC outlasted ARC, Shillong 25-18, 28-30, 25-14, 25-10 to clinch the title of the 3rd State Level men's Open Volleyball Tournament, which concluded today at Mayang imphal.

the championship win fetched the police side Rs 20,000 with ARC spikers having to content with Rs 15,000 .

MPSC duo W Shanta and Y Bobo were respectively adjudged the tournament's best player and best blocker as N Bu- dhachandra of NYVA, Naorem and O Shyamananda of ARC bagged the best setter and best spiker awards, all four prizes carrying Rs 500 each.

The prize distribution ceremony was held with Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar and M Prithviraj as the chief guest and functional president respectively.

Meanwhile, in the 1st 3-Man Veteran District Level Volleyball Tournament matches played today at PBM Brick Field Volleyball court, Wangjing Sabal NNYDA, Heirok beat DNNYC, Heirok 18-21, 25-21, 25-12, 25-20; HYO, Heirok outlasted TOYA, Tentha 13-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-20; while RDM, Wangjing outplayed TOYA, Tentha 25-15, 25-8, 25-15 .
