Inter GC/Bn CRPF weightlifting and wrestling tourney ends

Imphal, May 03 2019: Inter GC/Bn (ops) CRPF weightlifting and wrestling tournament organised by 109 Bn CRPF under the aegis of IGP, M&N Sector since May 2 at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal came to an end today with 143 Bn emerging as the team champions in both wrestling and weightlifting.

109 Bn finished runners up in the weightlifting event while 69 Bn were able to seal the runners up spot of the wrestling competition at the tournament which was participated by nine teams drawn from 32 Bn, 69 Bn, 86 Bn, 78 Bn, 87 Bn, 109 Bn, 143 Bn, 173 Bn and Group Centre CRPF.

The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by Brig SK Sharma, DIGP, Range Imphal as chief guest who also gave away prizes to the winners and runners of the competitions, said a statement of Commandant, 109 bn CRPF.

Speaking on the occasion, SK Sharma exhorted the players to play the game with full spirit and maintained that such tournaments not only build up team spirit de corps but also make one fit and healthy.
