Manipur's compound archers bag one gold, two silver in North East Sports Week

Manipur's archers claimed a gold and two silver of the nine medals on offer in the compound team event at SAI-NERC, Takyel, on Monday.
The home team of H Teuton Khuman, L Yohenba Singh, S Johnson Singh and O Henary beat Assam in a nerve-wreaking shoot-off to win the men's compound team event.
Assam's team was composed of Ujjal Kumar Bora, Mariab Jyoti Barman, Arbabjyoti Deka and Hemanta Boro.
Nagaland took the bronze courtesy of Vehuyi Venuh, Thinuohelie Metha, Ruyonu Theluo and Besuvezo Thisa.
In women's event, Assam emerged as top finishers.
The Assamese team represented by Samaina Basumatary, Anjali Baro, Bornali Boro and Saivgini Gohain combined accumulated 227 points to secure the gold medal.
Manipur's team came off second best with 226 points courtesy of Senyai Thongam, Paonam Lily Chanu, Ksh Manglemsana Devi and Mutum Rupan Devi, while Nagaland comprised of Neikesa Sakhrie, Vetavolu Rhakho and Vetolu Neinu finished third.
In the mixed team event, Manipur's H Teuton Khuman and Paonam Lily Chanu had to contend with silver medal after losing to Assam's Ujjal Kumar Bora and Samaina Basumatary by a whisker.
The state pair scored a total of 152 points against their counterpart duo's 153 points.
Nagaland's Vehuyi Venuh and Neikesa Sakhrie bagged the bronze medal.
