CYCLONE vs Model Club for Veteran T-20 Cricket title

Imphal, January 31 2022: CYCLONE, Thangmeiband earned a 5 wicket win over LCCC, Lilong to set up title clash with Model Club, Chingamakha in the 9th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.

LCCC won the toss and posted a modest total of 114 runs for 9 after winning the toss but Rohindro scored a-run-a-ball 44 and Shashi added 35 off 36 balls to help CYCLONE finish off the chase within 19.2 overs with 5 wickets left in the hand at Oriental College and Model Hr Secondary School ground.

In the LCCC innings, Krishnakumar (25), Rakesh (17) and Sanjit (13) were the top three run getters as Surjit of CYCLONE fetched two wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs.

CYCLONE's Iqbal, Tiken, Robin and Rohindro also chipped in with a wicket each to restrict LCCC batters from making a huge total.

LCCC's Ashok also managed 2 wickets for 19 runs in his spell of 4 overs but his effort failed to hamper the chase as Rohindro and Shashi stood firm and set up the win.

LCCC's Krishnakumar, Akbar and Sanjit also picked a wicket each.

Rohindro of CYCLONE who produced an all round performance by claiming two wickets and scoring 44 runs in the chase, was named man of the match.

The final match will take place on February 2 .
