47th LAGSA sports meet concludes

LYGSEDA Langching, M Moljol and Western Valley women team clinched the champion trophies of the 47th Longpi Area Games and Sports (LAGSA) Meet which concluded today at Khupjam memorial ground, Khopijang village in Chandel district.
The closing function was graced by Churachandpur Deputy Commissioner Lunminthang Haokip, special contractor Letkhopao Haokip and Greenland Hospital Proprietor Dr Jamkholal Haokip as chief guest, chief host and functional president respectively.
All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) president P Raghumani Singh and special contractor Hauminlien Taithul attended the function as guests of honour.
In the final of the men's football, LYGSEDA, Langching defeated Khopimun 6-5 goals via a tie break.
After both sides failed to break the deadlock in the first half, Langminthang (Jersey No 21) struck a goal for Khopimun Youth Club in the 50th minute but LYGSEDA bounced back after Seiboi (Jersey No 20) found the equaliser in the 75th minute.

Ngambom (Jersey No 6) and Langminlal (Jersey No 21) of Khopimun Youth Club were cautioned while Lalsemthang (Jersey No 4) of Khopimun Youth Club and Gogou (Jersey No 14) of LYGSEDA were sent off in the 70th minute.
In the penalty shoot out, Khopimun's T Khup (Jersey No 20) failed to beat the LYGSEDA custodian Mong (Jersey No 1) .
A cash prize of Rs 50, 000 along with a trophy were awarded to the team champion LYGSEDA.
Khopimun Youth Club received a cash prize of Rs 30, 000 along with runners up trophy and while the second runners up team K Sabi, Khanglai were awarded a cash prize of Rs 20, 000 .
In the under 13 boys' football, M Moljol claimed the title after defeating AYC, Aihang 1-0 in the final.
A cash prize of Rs 20, 000 and Rs 10, 000 along with a trophy were awarded to M Moljol and AYC respectively.
In the women's volleyball, Western Valley defeated M Moljol to clinch the trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 20, 000 while M Moljol were awarded a cash prize of Rs10, 000 along with a runners' up trophy.
