TKWA TROPHY: AFC Athokpam win inaugural match

Imphal, April 26 2015 : TKWA Trophy gets underway at Tentha Khongbal Multiplex Ground under the supervision of Tentha Khongbal Welfare Association(TKWA) on Sunday.

18 teams divided into six group are vying for the trophy.

The inaugural match was played between AFC Athokpam and MIFC Tentha Khunjao (Group A) where Athokpam overcame MIFC by a solitary goal.

The match was dictated by MIFC by controlling the mid field and had more of ball possession but MIFC strikers could not translate the dominance into result.

After change of ends, Abocha in the 39th min stunned MIFC when his powerful strike found the net of MIFC to the delight of AFC supporters.

The goal turns out to the decider of the match as MFIC could not score any goals and keep on searching for goal till the final whistle.
