State climbers end campaign on high note

Imphal, July 25 2022: Manipur ended their campaign on a high note by racking up 16 medals in the IMF North East Sport Climbing Competition that drew to a close on late Sunday at Guwahati, Assam.

Hijam Merina Chanu shone for the state with three gold medals that she won in women's bouldering, lead climbing and speed climbing events.

Yumlembam Pushpa Chanu made her mark with two goal medals (bouldering & lead) and a bronze (speed) in the junior girls' category.

Nongdamba Yumnam too impressed with two gold medals (junior boys' boul dering & lead) and one bronze (lead) .

Md Minaishin Maring won one gold (men's lead), one silver (bouldering) and one bronze (speed) while Ihok chom Boynao claimed one gold (speed) and two bronze (bouldering & lead) .

On the other hand .

Chileshwary Rajput bagged a silver in the women's speed climbing event.
