KMVFA, VSAI complete semi final line of 3rd Sangai Trophy

Imphal, April 24 2019: KMVFA, Keirak saw off AYVFA, Yairipok 2-0 while VSAI, Thangmeiband edged out FVFA, Uyumpok 3-1 on penalties in today's matches to seal their places in the semi-finals of the 3rd Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Championship 2019 organised under the aegis of United Veteran Football Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.

In the 3rd quarter final match of the tournament, KMVFA, Keirak made the most of the possession and attempts against AYVFA, Yairipok and scored one goal either side of the break to clinch a convincing 2-0 win.

Y Priyo broke the deadlock in the 18th minute of the match while H Rojit extended the lead to 2-0 win a fine shot in the 34th minute.

The game ended with the same scoreline despite AYVFA's frenetic effort to reduce the gap.

Meanwhile the last quarter final match saw VSAI, Thangmeiband and FVFA, Uyumpok played out a goalless draw during normal time and the winners were decided via a tie breaker wherein the Thangmeiband side emerged on top with 3-1 margin.

K Khelen, M Bimolchand and Kh Bonomali all scored for VSAI while only W Ranbir Singh found the target for the Uyumpok side.
