Elite Cricket: TRAU beats Model by 5 wickets

Imphal, March 20 2015 : Man of the Match performance of Priyojit, 3 wickets with the ball and 40 runs from 78 balls, helped TRAU in defeating Model Club by 5 wickets in the group match of Elite Tournament on Friday.

Model clubs hope of setting a challenging target after winning the toss was dusted when TRAU bowler produce spirited spells and supported by other players in the field.

Will oiled performance of TRAU redistricted Model to a partly score of 103 in the stipulated 35 overs.

TRAUs performance rode on the contribution of Priyojit and Thomas where both claimed 3 wickets each.

While Bobin chipped in with 2 wickets and Suraj with 1 wicket.

Dhamendra of Model could not weathered Priyojit and Thomas in the early innings and ended by scoring 12 from 43 balls.

Viking (17) and Sanjay (21) tried to stabilize the rocking boat of Model in the concluding part of the innings.

The target of Model was comfortably cross by TRAU in 27.4 overs by losing 5 wickets.

On the cushion provided by Priyojit, Kipgen (15); Robinson (13) and Abdulla (12) contributed to TRAUs victory.
