Soccer tri-series on Aug 26

A top Australian A-League club, Wellington Phoenix will compete with two I-League teams in a triangular series titled, North East Lajong Super Series from August 24 to September 1 at different venues of North East.
The tournament is jointly organised by Shillong Lajong FC and JPR Events in association with All Manipur Football Association, Assam Football Association and Meghalaya Football Association.
Wellington Phoenix is a professional club from New Zealand, which plays in Australia's premier professional football competition, A-League, said a press release.
In the 2011-12 season, they finished in the top four of the League and the team is led by Kiwi 2010 FIFA World Cup and club coach Ricki Herbert.
The team also boasts of having four World Cup players - Tony Lochhead, Benjamin Sigmund, Leo Bertos and Jeremy Brockie, who represented New Zealand in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The team will play with I-League clubs - Shillong Lajong FC and United Sikkim FC in the tournament.
It will be a round robin format where in all the three teams will go head to head, and the top two teams will play in the final slated to be held on September 1 in Shillong.
Shillong Lajong FC will play Wellington Phoenix on August 26 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium in Imphal.
