NCA, RCA win to cruise into pre-quarterfinals of 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament

The pre-quarterfinal line up of the 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament organised by Manipur Cricket Association has been completed today with the conclusion of the league stage.
At PTRC ground, Patsoi Part IV, NCA, Nambol defeated PCC, Mayaikoibi by 38 runs to finish Group A runners up and make it to the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament.
Opting to bat first, NCA were bowled out for 128 runs in 22.4 overs but PCC collapsed at 90 within 19.5 overs of the chase to narrowly miss out on their chance to qualify for the last-16 stage.

Thongam Rahul 37 off 18 balls and Leishemba Meitankeishangbam 15 off 36 balls led the scoring for NCA today as Rojer Laishram (3/17), Lamnganba Nongmaithem (3/14) and Simon Konthoujam (2/53) shared 8 wickets. For PCC, Rojer Laishram 13 off 12 balls and Mathurabashimayum Regan 12 off 19 balls emerged only double digit run getters as Thiyam Bikash wreaked havoc collecting 5 scalps (5 wickets for 22 runs in his spell of 6 overs) and Ahenba Longjam picked three (3/19 in 4 overs) .
Thiyam Bikash was eventually adjudged player of the match.
In an inconsequential Group A match staged at Khudeiband Lampak, CYSA, Khangabok beat CCK, Khongman by 2 wickets to finish fourth in 6-team Group A table.
Elsewhere at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, RCA, Lilong crushed CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai by 8 wickets to finish Group B winners and qualify for the last-16 stage.
CDCC, elected to bat first, but were dismissed for 62 runs in 17.5 overs as Nongjaimayum Masud Alam (4/8 in 6 overs), Md Irfan (2/15) and Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain (2/18) ripped their batting order with ease.
31 extras and unbeaten 21 off 21 balls from Sahed Ahmed then steered RCA to winning 63/2 in 10.3 overs.
Nongjaimayum Masud Alam was adjudged player of the match.
Meanwhile, YAL, Thoubal Leishangthem suffered an 18-run loss to YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel but still finished third in the Group C table above YUCC to qualify for the last-16 stage of the tournament.
After opting to bat first, YUCC had a terrible outing and were dismissed for 105 runs in 26.4 overs as Thoiba (4/18), Keisham Nongpoknganba (2/10) and Yohenba Keisham (2/22) of YAL combined well to stun their batting order.
YUCC however surpassed their rivals' bowling performance to bowl out YAL for just 87 runs in 21 overs and sealed the 18-run victory.
Keisham Nongpoknganba was unbeaten on 27 for YAL as Jaheer (4/20), M Md Alfash (3/32) and Rajbir Khumanthem (2/5) shone with the bowling for YUCC.
Although they shared the same 6 points with YAL, YUCC with an inferior net run rate finished fourth in the table.
Rajbir Khumanthem of YUCC, who topscored with 46 runs off 36 balls and picked two wickets, was eventually adjudged man of the match.
