FC Lamjao, USA romp in AMFA Cup

Imphal, September 15 2022: Both FC Lamjao and USA enjoyed a comfortable victories on the third day of the 2nd AMFA Cup 2022 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

FC Lamjao started the day With a 3-0 drubbing of Angtha FC as Reisangmi Khodang stood out from the rest with a double.

FC Lamjao dominated possession from the word go but they were made to toil for the major part of the first half before Reisangmi blasted home the opener in the 35th minute.

Buoyed by the goal, the Lamjao side pressed on and went two goals ahead of their opponents when Moirangthem Somokanta Singh was on target in the second minute of first-half added time.

After the break, Angtha FC looked more reorganised and managed to threaten on a couple of occasions but their spirited efforts proved futile.

Reisangmi put FC Lamjao beyond Angtha FC's reach after he collected his second and team's third goal (88') with a calm finish from the penalty spot.

Later in the day, USA notched up a dominant 4-1 win over TRUGPU.

USA needed just three minutes from kickoff to take the lead through Khumanthem Hemlet and Shamjetshabam Boy Singh extended the ad vantage seconds before the end of first-half injury time.

Boy Singh was at it again in the 66th minute to give his side a commanding 3-0 lead before TRUGPU reduced the deficit in the 69th minute through Bidyananda Meetei.

USA restored their three goal cushion after Thounaojam Suraj Meetei converted in the 77th minute and sealed the victory.
