T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament Gojendro picks up four to help YWC cruise to semis

Imphal, April 15 2018:
YWC, Langthabal cruised to semi-final beating NAPSA, Kha-Imphal by 76 runs riding on spectacular bowling performance from Gojendro in the ongoing 2nd T Subol Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament being played at Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College ground.
After being offered to bat first, YWC batsmen Kumarjit started the early onslaught smashing 62 runs of 60 balls while Manaobi punished the NAPSA bowlers scoring 53 runs of 40 balls taking YWC to a comfortable total.
Samananda 7 (6) and Gojendro 5 (4) played their part to help post a respectable total of 156/3 in 20 overs.
In reply, NAPSA batsmen Somendro 21 (16) and Surjit 20 (17) gave the solid start but Gojendro of YWC removed the top order batsmen in quick succession and destroyed the lower order batsmen in his course to 4 wickets haul while Rajesh Kumar and Ch Kumar superbly aided in dismantling the remaining batsmen and dismissed 2 wickets each.
NAPSA batsmen Bhogen 13 (18) and Mahesh 9 (12) tried hard to steer their team out of trouble but could not prevent the loss against the stronger opponent and the team crumbled at 80/10 in 17.4 overs.
Gojendro was adjudged man of the match for his 4-wicket haul.
CHAMP will clash with CCC, Chajing in the first semi-final on April 17 while CYCLONE will face YWC, Langthabal in the second semi-final on April 18 at the same ground.
