17th Manipur Veteran Cricket : LCCC seal 1 wicket win against YWC

Imphal, December 13 2019: LCCC overcame late blushes to get the better ofYWC, Langthabal by 1 wicket in the 8th league match (Group B) of the 17th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament being organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.

YWC had a dismal start losing all the wickets with 113 runs on the board in 27.1 overs after winning the toss and it proved them costly as LCCC reached the target in 29 overs despite facing a torrid time during the chase.

Gojen with 19 runs, topscored for YWC while his team mates, Priyokumar and Kumarjit added up 15 and 13 runs each.

YWC's batting were kept under control by Jilla of LCCC as he scalped three wickets including the last man in his spell of 4.1 overs while his team mates Jiten and Rakesh posted a wicket each under their names.

The chase was not an easy task for LCCC but team efforts and responsible batting by Sanjit (27), Krishna (28) and Gulsan (16) helped them reach the target runs in 29 runs with only 1 wicket left in their hands.

YWC's Manaobi picked up 2 wickets and maintained a good economy but his effort fell too short to rescue his team.

Rojesh and Priyokumar of YWC also picked up a wicket each in this innings.

Jilla of LCCC was named man of the match for his three wicket haul and contribution of 11 runs.

Both LCCC and YWC have sealed their place in the semi-finals as Group winners and runners.

Model Club, Chingamakha will meet CYCLONE, Thangmeiband in a Group A league match tomorrow.
