To contribute to the Nation should be priority for all : Bhaichung Bhutia

Imphal, March 12 2025: Indian Football legend Bhaichung Bhutia has said that everyone should put the Nation above all and to contribute to the Nation should be everyone's priority.

He made the statement during an interaction programme with the students at UNACCO College at Khongman Zone III in Imphal East today.

He also inaugurated UNACCO Sports Academy and joined students during photo sessions, said PRO of the school in a press release.

Speaking at the event, Bhaichung spoke highly of the sporting legacy the State has carved and took note of the unending production of world class athletes who continue to make their marks at world championships, Olympics, Asian Games and other marquee events.

He also expressed surprise to find UNACCO School among very few schools in the region to incorporate numerous extracurricular and sporting activities and contribute in keeping the State's sporting legacy alive over the years.

Highlighting the need to keep patriotism and the National interest above all, he all called upon the younger generation to bring laurels to the Nation or contribute in any form they can.

Passion, hard work and dedication are key to success in any field, he also advised the students to keep focussing on their goals.

He also encouraged students, who failed earlier, to learn from their mistakes and work until success is achieved, the PRO added.

Highlighting that peace and tranquility greatly aids development of the Nation, he also maintained that bringing peace and development should not be left to the political parties and emphasized on everyone's participation and effort, the PRO continued.
