9th MNCA Elite Tournament : Priyojit's allround show guides TRAU to fifth straight victory

Imphal, February 11 2025: TRAU, Kwakeithel overwhelmed REYS, Khwai Nagamapal by 115 runs for the fifth straight victory in the 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25 .

Asked to bat first at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, TRAU, who were coming off from four back to back wins, posted a modest total of 201 runs for 5 wickets thanks to Priyojit Kangabam's unbeaten 137-ball 108 and bowled out REYS for just 86 runs in 21.3 overs.

Somorjit Salam (3/12), Priyojit Kangabam (3/14) and Preethson Arubam (2/24) played pivotal roles in dismantling REYS whose Nanao Singh topscored with 25 runs in the chase.

Earlier in the first innings, Sapam Bikash picked two wickets (2/40) as Yungkham Romario and Kiran Laishram claimed a wicket apiece.

Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, CRAU posted their second win in 6 matches by beating PTCC, Patsoi Part III by 13 runs.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, CRAU amassed 212 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 40 overs on the back of Ayekpam Rakesh's 70-ball 70 and Lamabam Ajay Singh's quickfire 49 off 33 balls.

They successfully defended their total by restricting PTCC to 199 runs for 8 wickets with the help of leading bowling performances from Thongam Joychandra (3/30 in 5 overs) and Bm Sabakhan (2/39 in 7 overs) .

Andy Mandingbam (58 off 78 balls) and Shapam Kenjit (41) for PTCC.

Earlier in the first innings, Shapam Kenjit (2/44) and Dominic Moirangthem (2/31) shared four wickets.
