7-Day Winter Cricket Coaching Camp underway at Sagolband

Imphal, January 09 2025:
A 7-day Winter Coaching Camp organised by the Sagolband United Cricket Club kicked off today at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Ground under the aegis of the Manipur Cricket Association.
The camp was formally inaugurated in the presence of RK Imo, MLA Sagolband AC; Lairenjam Geetaranjan, vice president, Manipur Cricket Association; Leishangthem Ronel, Secretary Manipur Cricket Association, Th Dinachandra, working president Sagolband United Cricket Club among others as dignitaries.
Speaking at the inaugural function, RK Imo, who is also the former MNCA president, encouraged parents and guardians to make the most of such coaching camps organised specially for U-14 boys and U-15 girls.
He also sung praises of the growth and achievement of the State in the National level tournaments in a short span of time.
He also noted State senior men's team entry into the Ranji Trophy Elite Group following their successful Plate Group league campaign.
Calling upon all to join hands in nurturing budding cricketers and help them become successful cricketers, RK Imo also handed over a concrete cricket pitch to the public.
Similar camp aimed at imparting cricket knowledge to youngsters through experienced coaches will begin tomorrow at 6 venues including PCC ground, Mayaikoibi; PTRC ground, Patsoi; THAU ground, Thangmeiband; Dhobi Lampak, Kongba and Thoubal district.
Another batch of the camp will be held at Mayang Imphal (NADP) from January 12 .
