K Jenim wins gold, Michael bags silver at Wushu nationals

Khaidem Jenim won a gold medal while Moirangthem Michael and Yendrembam Christina took silver medals at the 24th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship 2024, held from December 1 to 6 in Tarn Taran district, Punjab.
Khaidem Jenim, a resident of Khaidem Leirak in Sugnu, claimed the gold medal in the Kungfu Wing Chun event.
Moirangthem Michael, hailing from Kakching Wairi, earned a silver medal in the Wing Chun event, while Yendrembam Christina failed to bag a medal in the competition.
All three athletes have been trained under the guidance of Kakching-based wushu mentor, Pebam.
Notably, Khaidem Jenim, the gold medallist, has been residing in the relief camp established by the Committee for Peace and Social Harmony at Kakching Indoor Stadium due to ongoing communal unrest in the state.
The committee expressed profound pride and joy at Jenim's remarkable accomplishment, which serves as an inspiring testament to resilience and excellence amid adversity.
