IMSUC emerge team champions of State Sepaktakraw Championship

Imphal, May 08 2022: IMSUC (Heingang) were crowned team champions of the State Level Sepaktakraw Championship 2022 as the five-day-long competition for mini girls & boys, sub-junior girls & boys and junior girls & boys wrapped at SWC Ground, Hiyanglam Makha Leikai, on Sunday.

On the fifth and last day of the championship, IMSUC-A fought back from a set down to beat SAIRC-A (Imphal) 15-21, 21-16, 21-19 to win the junior boys' event as IMSUC ended their campaign with three titles to emerge as the team champions.

The Heingang side's other two titles came courtesy of their sub-junior girls and sub-junior boys who both triumphed in their respective final matches earlier.

In the sub-junior girls' final, IMSUC-A defeated PUC-A (Kairang) while the sub-junior boys' team beat SAIRC-A in their summit clash.

The competition's mini boys' event title went to SWC-A (Hiyanglam) who got the better of PUC (Kairang) in their title clash as PUC (Kairang) outperformed IM-SUC-A in the final of the mini girls' group.

The championship was organised by Social Welfare Club (SWC), Hiyanglam Makha Leikai under the aegis of All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association.
