Inter-college badminton TMC, NBC, PSC win

Imphal, October 07 2024: Thambal Marik College (TMC), Oinam; Naorem Birahari College (NBC), Khundrakpam; and Pole Star College (PSC), Wabagai registered comfortable wins on the first day of the Chongtham (o) Rajkumari Tamphasana Memorial Manipur University Inter-College Badminton (M&W) Tournament 2024-25 at NBC indoor hall on Monday.

In the first match, TMC defeated Imphal College (IC) by 3-0 sets margin with TMC's Shasen Sagolsem edging past IC's RK Hemchand Singh (21-17, 19-21, 21-17) in the first singles, as college-mate Tongbram Bonson Singh outclassed IC's Nameirakpam Malemnganba Singh (21-6, 21-4) in the second singles, while T Bonson & Pritamkumar Oinam overcame RK Hemchand & Thokchom Bishman (21-14, 21-19) in the doubles.

On the other hand, NBC blanked Standard College (SC), Kongba 3-0 riding on Salam Stearly Singh's 21-6, 21-3 victory over Mushahar Ali in the first singles, Thoudam Dison Singh defeated Keisham Nepolean Singh (21-3, 21-6) in the second singles and S Stearly & Th Dison triumphed over Mushahar Ali & Aheibam Denish Meitei (21-11, 21-6) in the doubles.

Similarly, PSC drubbed Liberal College (LC), Luwangsangbam 3-0 points after Konjengbam Ngamba Singh beat Aheibam Kelvin (21-11, 21-7) and Chingangbam Ritesh Singh brushed aside Sarangthem Joychandra Singh (21-3, 21-6) in the first two singles before Ch Ritesh & Chirom Vickson Singh completed the comprehensive victory by defeating S Joychandra & Thoi Okram (21-5, 21-8) in the doubles match.
