Sunrise Club thrash UJB 6-0 in M Jodishchandra Memorial Football Tournament

Imphal, January 07 2020: Sunrise Club, Kadamtala notched up an emphatic 6-0 win against UJB, Hmarkhulien in a Group D preliminary round match of the 1st Moirangthem Jodishchan-dra Memorial Invitation Football Tournament being organised by All Jiribam Sports Association at Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground since January 3.Sunrise Club enjoyed a solid start as Y Joychandra and Lalchnuanmoia added a goal in the 38th and the 42nd minute to make it 2-0 till the break after UJB managed to deny their entry in the earlier proceedings.

Sunrise Club picked up the game from where they left after the restart with S Naoba scoring the team's third in the 66th minute while M Ravi added the team's fourth in the 71st minute.

UJB were never in contest despite conceding four goals and to leave further dent, Sunrise Club's Ph Malemnganba quickfired two goals in the 76th and the 80th minute to complete the 6-0 rout.

Yesterday, RYC, Ramjaizang sent LHYC packing with a demolishing 9-0 victory thanks to trebles by Kaprijang and Gaisuilung.

Kaprijang opened up the account early in the 2nd minute before striking two more goals in the 16th and the 44th minute while Gaisuilung grabbed his first in the 38th minute before pumping two more goals in the 66th and the 68th minute.

The other goals for the winning side were scored by Ago Gomei (38') and Glory (58', 60') .

Jiribam Police will meet JYC, Jairolpokpi in the next match of the tournament tomorrow.
