Sub-Jr NFC: Manipur ease into semis, to face WB

Imphal, September 06 2024:
Julan Nongmaithem and Yaiphabi Thokchom scored a double apiece as Manipur overpowered Mizoram 9-0 in a Group A match of the Sub-Junior Girls' National Football Championship (Tier 1) 2024-25 at Berhampore Stadium, West Bengal on Friday.
The result propelled Manipur to the semifinals, where they will face West Bengal.
Julan converted in the 14th minute to open the floodgates as Chingkhamayum Redima Devi struck twice in the 19th and 24th minutes to triple the lead.
Then Mongjam Pusparani Devi further stretched their advantage in the 25th minute.
Yaiphabi Thokchom continued the scoring spree with a 36th-minute strike, then Mongjam Pusparani found their sixth goal in the 38th minute before Julan netted her second goal to make it 7-0 before the halftime whistle.
After the break, the state girls collected two more goals with Takhelmayum Ashalata scoring in the 55th minute and Yaiphabi netting her second goal in stoppage time.
Manipur will square off against West Bengal in the semi finals on September 9, 2024 .
