Paona Memorial Football YAISA FC confirm quarterfinal berth

Imphal, September 04 2024: YAISA FC, Kakching romped 4-0 past Cobra FC, Moreh for third straight Group A match to confirm their place in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 3rd Paona Memorial 9-A-Side Football Tournament 2024 .

Yaisa FC who have won 21- against Charan FC and 3-1 against Lamlai FC in their previous matches, started brightly to enjoy a 2-0 first half lead before cruising to a 4-0 win today.

Tolstoy opened the scoring early in the 2nd minute before Arnold doubled the advantage in the 6th minute.

After leading the game 2-0 in the first half, Sreekant made it 3-0 after 29 minutes before completing his brace 2 minutes into the stoppage time (40+2') .

In the Group D competition, Mohadiz (1', 3', 34') and Taj Khan (20+1', 35') set up a 5-0 win for Sarukh FC against EEO-A, Lamding.

It was the third straight victory for Sarukh FC .

Later in the second Group A match of the tournament, Diya (35', 40') scored twice after Devo scored the opener in the 12th minute to hand Charan FC a 3-2 win over Lamlai FC .

For Lamlai FC, C Akash (12') and N Henary (19') were on target.
