WAM announces selection of wushu players for National trial

Imphal, May 03 2019: Wushu Association of Manipur (WAM) has announced the list of State players and officials who have been selected to participate in the upcoming All India National Wushu Trial Selection for the preparation of Indian Wushu team at SAI, CRC, Bhopal in connection with the 10th Junior Asian Wushu Championship to be held at Brunei and 15th World Wushu Championship 2019 to be held at Shanghai, China.

The trial for the junior category will be conducted from May 13 to 14 and while the trial for the senior category will be held from May 15 and 16, said a statement of WAM.

The players who have been short-listed for participation in the National trial along with the respective categories are as follows.

Senior Sanda event Female: N Chaoba Devi (52kg below); O Bidyapati Chanu (56kg below); N Roshibina (60kg below); Th Menaka Devi (70kg below) and Male: A James Meitei (52kg below) .

Senior Taolu event Female: L Jenny Devi (Taijiquan/Taijijian) and Male Sr: G Subhson Sharma and M Suraj Singh (Changquan/ Doashu/Gunshu) .

Youth Taolu event Female: Sh Subita Chanu (Nanquan/Nandao) and Male: Sohan Yumnam (Taijiquan/Taijijian) .

Junior Taolu event Female: H Langlentombi (Nanquan/Nandao/Nangun); W Ningthibi (Changquan/Doashu/Gunshu) and Male: Th Bonish Singh (Nanquan/Nandao/Nangun); L Jibison (Changquan/Daoshu/Gunshu) .

Children Sanda event Male: L Boyton Singh (52kg below); H Priyojit Singh (56kg below) .

Junior Sanda event Female: T Priyaluxmi Devi (48kg below); H Prabhabati Devi (52kg below); P Sanathoi Devi (56kg below); H Chaoba Devi (60kg below) and Male: M Samson Singh, (48kg below); P Loya Singh (52kg below); Th Malemnganba (56kg below); Th Naocha Singh (60kg below) and M Malemnganba (65kg below) .

The statement also added that W Sandhyarani Devi and K Kalanganglu will lead Manipur Wushu team as Coach and Manager respectively.
