CM Biren seeks intervention from Union Sports Minister

Imphal, June 02 2018: Chief Minister N Biren has sought personal attention from Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Union Sports Minister regarding the recent provisional suspension of weightlifter Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu by International Weightlifting Federation.

In his letter, CM Biren mentioned about conflicting sample identification made by International Weightlifting Federation which suggests for a dubious report.

He also enclosed related documents regarding the reports of samples.

He also asked the Union Minister to personally intervene into the matter and obtain a prompt review of die suspension order being served to the Manipuri athlete.

He also mentioned that such issues are highly sentimental to the people of Manipur and asked for help from the Minister towards obtaining justice.
