IE 1st Divn league : ESU hammer Angtha FC 6-0, CSC hold ABA ; NESU lead table with 19 points after Round 7

Imphal, October 01 2019: NESU, Khurai are now title favourites of the Moirangthem Ibobi Memorial First Division Football League Tournament being organised by Imphal East District Football Association as they are enjoying pole position with a staggering 19 points from 7 matches (6 wins and 1 draw) in the league table, which is clear 5 points ahead of second placed ABA, Kshetrigao and 6 points ahead of ESU, Wangkhei.

ABA shared a point today with CSC, Chanung after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw.

ABA got the lead when Malemnganba beat CSC keeper in the 12th minute but Goulen helped CSC draw level during the additional time of the first half (35+1).The two teams toiled hard to find the lead but ended without much of a result leaving them to share the spoils.

Meanwhile it rained goals in the second game as Thangbar and Heman tore apart the defence line of Angtha FC, to help ESU come out 6-0 winners.

Thangbar scored twice (16', 25') in the first half while Heman netted a goal to ensure a 3-0 lead before Rajdan made it 4-0 in the 46th minute of the match.

The scoring spree continued in the second half as well and it was in the 55th minute that Heman scored his second and last goal and Thangbar drove home the final nail during the stoppage time (70+2') to complete his treble and helped ESU wrap up the game 6-0 .
