JMT, Tatbung emerge champions of volleyball tournament

Jiribam, February 28 2019: Jangkhulen Memorial Team (JMT), Tatbung emerged champions of 1st Volleyball Tournament organized by Tatbung Youth Club, Tousem sub-division, Tamenglong district, which got underway since February 26 at Tatbung Church Compound.

The final match of the tournament was graced by AK Sadananda Singh (MPS), Addl SP (OPS) Jiribam; L Khogen Singh, OC, Jiribam and N Jayantakumar Singh, OC, Leingangpokpi OP, Jiribam as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

The final match played between Jangkhulen Memorial Team (JMT), Tatbung and Pangmol Youth Club (PYC) began with JMT, Tatbung choosing the side after winning the toss while PYC started the service.

Both the team put up tough fight in the 1st round but credit the players of JMT, Tatbung who have managed to launch flurry of attacks in the last few minutes to win the set 25-23.JMT, Tatbung continued to impress in the 2nd round to register it in their name with 25-10 points win.

In the 3rd round, JMT, Tatbung held on their lead to wrap the set 25-20 points and clinched the title of the championship by 3-0 sets against PYC.

Later, cash prize and trophy were handed to the winner and runners-up team by the chief guest, president and guest of honour.
