AMFA imposes one-year ban on five referees

Imphal, November 29 2024: The executive council of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has imposed a one-year ban on five referees for one year for officiating in an unapproved tournament.

According to a memorandum issued by AMFA on Friday, the referees - Sh Josy Singh, S Premkumar Singh, Sh Barun Singh, Thongam Robin and K Brojen - were found officiating in an unauthorised event, the 1st Advocate Sagolsem Jiten Meetei Memorial 6-A-Side State Level Men's Open Football Tournament 2024, organised by the Golden Pillar Club, resulting in their one-year suspension and a fine of Rs 10,000 each, which must be deposited to AMFA by December 20, 2024 .
