Imphal, September 29 2024: The 1st RK Sudhir Singh Memorial Tabei Tennis Tournament, organised by Manipur Table Tennis Umpire Association, got underway at MTTA Indoor Stadium, DM University Campus on Sunday.

Stepon Waikhom, Inunganba Akoijam and Rajkumar Sahil shone on the first day of the tournament, securing two wins each in the U-13 boys' event.

Stepon started his campaign with a commanding 3-0 triumph over E Kotesana 3-0 and followed it up with a 3-1 win against Laishram Sisil.

Inunganba, on the other hand, comfortably beat Lanchenba Samukcham 3-0 in his first match and continued his success with a 3-1 victory over Nameirakpam Geerish.

Meanwile, Sahil eased past Thoroijam Burson 3-0, then Nirbhay Loitongbam by the same scoreline.
