Churachandpur 1st Div league: Contrasting wins for LFC, GSC

Imphal, September 28 2017: Lamka Football Club (LFC) and Ganggam Soccer Club (GSC) registered contrasting wins today in the ongoing Khaikhanlian Memorial District 1st Division league 2017 at Peace Ground, Tuibong .

In the first match, Lamka Football Club came from behind to eke out a hard fought 2-1 win over Zenhang Lamka Youth Club (ZLYC) .

ZLYC drew the first blood when Siamminthang handed his team the lead as early in the 5th minute.

However, the lead was short-lived as LFC drew level through T Ginmuansang in the 17th minute .

The two teams went to the break with the 1-1 stalemate and the second half saw both teams bouncing back with renewed vigour .

Pauliansiam put LFC in the driver’s seat when he found the back of their rivals’ net in the 55th minute.

The goal eventually fetched full points to LFC .

The second encounter of the day saw GSC notching a comfortable 4-0 win over M Songgel Youth Club thanks to a double strikes by Lalhuollhim .

GSC netted two successive goals in both halves to earn their second full points .

The match started on an impressive note.

However, GSC had the upper hand right from the first whistle although they could not convert some chances.

It was K Pautinmang who handed the lead to GSC as he made a fine shot in the 34th minute .

Barely two minutes after the first goal, Lalhuollhim extended GSC’s lead to make it 2-0 by half-time .

GSC continued playing offensive and upped their pressure on MSYC defence line.

P Chungnung hit another goal for GSC in the 60th minute before Lalhuollhim struck his second in the 63rd minute to seal the match in style.
