IW 1st Divn League: THAU edge past SICO 3-2, GC CRPF down SCK 2-1

Imphal, July 28 2019: THAU, Thangmeiband sealed a hard fought 3-2 win against SICO, Lourembam Leikai while GC-CRPF, Langjing beat SCK, Kodompokpi by 2-1 goals in today's matches of the ongoing 26th L Sangita Memorial First Division Football League Tournament at Football Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.

Kh Beckham opened up the scoring for SICO in the 11th minute of the first match but L Forein hit a brace, in the 17th and the 27th minute to overturn the lead in THAU favour till the end of the first half.

SICO Lourembam which shared almost equal possession and attempts with the Thangmeiband side pulled level in the 57th minute through Ch Ronaldo.

The game seemed to end in a 2-2 draw as both teams remained on level terms for a better portion but Vd Imanuel off THAU, Thangmeiband changed the narrative as he struck the winner in the 80th minute.

Meanwhile in the second match of the day, GC-CRPF made the most of the possession and chances and led the first half 1-0 thanks to C Haoki's strike in the 12th minute .

Kwmdwn Boro doubled the advantage for the CRPF team in the 52nd minute with a fine shot before Chaoba of SCK pulled back a goal in the 67th minute to make it 1-2 at the end.

NC Club, Khonghampat will meet YAC, Yaiskul in the next match on August 1 at 1.30 pm whereas PAMYAL, Patsoi will play SICO latter at 3 pm .
