AR conducts friendly volleyball match

Imphal, August 27 2018:
Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a friendly volleyball match between Tusom TOB (Temporary Operational Base) and Tusom CV village Youth Club at the TOB location yesterday.
The match was organised with the motto 'Friendship Through Sports' and to reach out to the people.
It also aimed at imbibing the spirit of sportsmanship among the players, particularly the young generation in order to channelise their energies into a positive way and to further boost up their sports skills to a higher level.
The people of all spheres of the society were motivated for active participation and inculcating sports as a way of life and strive to truly make Manipur the Powerhouse of Sports in the country, said a press release of IGAR (S).
Another friendly volleyball match was organised yesterday by Keithalmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Andro Company Operating Base, Imphal East district.
The match was played between the team of local youth of Andro and troops of Assam Rifles.
It also provided a forum for the youth of the area for interaction with the troops.
