SSC win 5-a-side Men's Open Football Tournament

Imphal, November 22 2021: SSC (Sawombung) overcame Dress House (Patsoi) on penalties to win the 1st 5-a-side Men's Open Football Tournament 2021 on Monday at SSC playground, Sawombung.

After neither side were able to score in the regulation time, the game went into a penalty shootout where SSC rose to the contest by converting eight of their nine shots as the shootout ended in an thrilling 8-7 result in favour of the Sawombung side.

Among the successful penalty takers of SSC were Rohit, Michael, Henry, Sanamacha, Mang, Santa, Hemba and A Rishan.

Dress House came up short on their first and ninth attempts.

Netrajit, Lansingarn, Peter, Kishan, Chungmei, Apu and Monish were the penalty scorers for their team in a losing cause.

Individual prize winners of the tournament were Chungmei Mariamei (best player), Kishan Singh (top scorer), Y Santa Singh (best defender), Kh Rocky (best goalkeeper) and Thounaojam Korounganba (promising player) .
