LYSSU fetch Langthabal Kendra Football tourney title

Imphal, January 21 2020: LYSSU eased to a 3-l win against NSU to claim the title of the 31st Langthabal Kendra Football Tournament 2019-20 organised by Chajing Inat Kanba Lup at Chajing Kangjeibung.

Although LYSSU dominated the game from the beginning of the match, they entered the first half with a 1-0 lead thanks to Borish Arambam's early 6th minute strike.

H Pradip then solidified LYSSU's lead in the 39th minute with a clinical strike but NSU fought back and cut the gap by one goal via Th Suresh's clean finish in the 42nd minute.

NSU however failed to preserve their momentum and capitalising on their defensive lapse, Kabiraj banged home the final nail in the 48th minute and ensured LYSSU reach home 3-1 .

Winners LYSSU bagged the top prize of Rs 30,000 along with a trophy while NSU had to contend with cash prize of Rs 20,000 .

Third placed MC were too feted with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 during the valedictory function.

Best goalkeeper, L Nganba Meitei of MC; best player, N Kabiraj of LYSSU and best scorers, NSFC's Th Ronaldo and LYSSU's W Azet were feted with cash prize of Rs 3,000 each as DLC were adjudged with best disciplined team award and a cash prize of Rs 5,000 .
