Laishram Ani contributes to India's silver at Commonwealth Fencing Championship

Imphal, July 20 2024:
Representing India in the women's sabre team event, Laishram Ani Devi helped her country win a silver medal on the final day of the Commonwealth Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship 2024 in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The women's sabre team comprising Shreya Gupta, Jeffarlin, Laishram Abi Devi and Solanki Gauri dominated England 45-28 in their semifinal contest, but the Indian team faltered in the final, losing 29-45 against the Australian team to settle for the silver medal.
The state fencer Laishram Ani is the daughter of L Ojit and L Sapana of Singjamei Waikhom Leikai.
