3rd AMFA Cup : Angtha FC thump YDO 3-0 for second straight win, GDC hold FC Imphal City

Angtha FC defeated YDO, Heinoukhongnembi by 3-0 goals to stretch their Group A winning run in the 3rd AMFA Cup to two games.
Angtha FC who kicked off their group campaign with a 3-1 win over GDC, Thinungei kept their composure intact and produced a dominating performance today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong to extend their winning run.
It was a slow start for Angtha FC with YDO defence denying their relentless attempts until Konthoujam Dhruv made a clinical finish in the 33rd minute.
After leading the first half by a narrow lead, Angtha FC swelled the margin by 2-0 with Konthoujam Donel finding the back of the YDO net.
YDO, who slumped to 1-3 loss to GDC in the previous game after a 2-0 opening game win against FC Imphal City, struggled hard to reduce the margin but Angtha FC piled further misery on them with Kongkham Thoithoi scoring their third and decisive goal in the 78th minute.
Angtha FC eventually see out the game 3-0 by denying YDO's late charges tactfully.
Super-sub Zidan salvages draw for GDC
The day also saw GDC, Thinungei rally from one goal down to cap their group campaign in a 1-1 draw with FC Imphal City, Kongba.
FC Imphal City took the lead through a freak second minute goal off Robinson Usham but Pukhrambam Zidan who subbed in for Naorem Bikash after 66 minutes completed GDC's comeback within two minutes of his entry by scoring the equaliser.
The two sides fought to make difference in the late stages but defenders emerged on top to deny any alterations in the scoreline.
Eventually, GDC ended their group campaign with 5 points (1 win, two draws) from 4 matches.
