Gold medallist W Mahesh feted

Imphal, September 15 2018: Wangkhem Mahesh who was among three gold medallists from Manipur at the 15th Eastern India Body Building Championship 2018 held at Patna, Bihar under the auspices of Indian Body Building and Fitness Association from Sep 8 to 19, was given a warm reception by Salai Holdings Private Ltd at its conference hall at Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai today.

Wangkhem Mahesh who won a gold medal in the 70 kg class is an athlete of Salai Body Sculpture and was among the State team selected by All Manipur Body Building and Fitness Association.

The gold medallist was felicitated with Rs 50,000, a medal and a memento by vice chairmans of Salai Holding Private Limited, Narengbam Bishwajit and Akoijam Deepa Anand on the occasion for his outstanding performance at the championship on the occasion.

Kh Doren, gym trainer at Salai Body Sculpture was also presented simple gift at the event in recognition of his contribution in shaping and training the athletes.

Lauding the achievement of Wangkhem Mahesh, Narengbam Biswajit maintained that such a fete was a matter of pride for Salai Body Sculpture and the State at large.

There are more than 600 trainees at the gym (Salai Body Sculpture) and the expansion of the gym is in the line, he added.

He also went on to say that healthy minds and bodies are very much necessary for development in the State.
