TCMDC thrash CHAMP by 60 runs in Veteran Cricket Tournament

Imphal, December 14 2024: TCMDC, Thongju eased to a 60-run victory against CHAMP, Khagempali in a Group C encounter of the ongoing 21 st Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground today.

TCMDC rode on half centuries from Damen Karam 74 not out in 50 balls and L Krishna 53 off 44 balls to post 248/4 in the allotted 30 overs before restricting CHAMP to 188/5 and sealed the commanding win.

S Rakesh 48 and Ningthoujam Sanjit 35 hot out also made significant scores for TCMDC who were asked to bat first.

A Gopeshor 2/47 and Bablu Sharma 1/38 were among the wickets for CHAMP in this innings.

In reply, S John scored an unbeaten 83 off 69 balls but his effort went in vain as they ended up gathering 188 runs.

Bablu Sharma was doing well with S John but he had to retire at 32 .

Somorjit Karam of TCMDC returned with the best bowling figures of 3/31 in 6 overs.

Damen Karam who struck 74 and picked a wicket was adjudged man of the match.

NAPSA, Kha Imphal will play ESU in a Group D match on December 16 at the same venue.
