Kick boxer Tala, coach Umakanta feted

Imphal, May 14 2013: On being selected in the Indian team, Pilgrims & Travelling Welfare Association hosted a felicitation function in honour of kick boxer Yambem Tala (54 kg below semi contact) and Sarungbam Umakanta, coach of Indian kick boxer team, at Manipur Press Club here today.

Representing the country, Yambem Tala would participate in the 4th Asian Indoor Games -2013 & Martial Arts Games-2013 which would be held at Korea from 26th June to 8th July 2013 .

In her debut international performance, Tala would compete with other boxers from Asian countries.

Altogether, 9 kick boxers including 6 male and 3 female players would be participating in the event.

Tala had so far won 5 (five) gold medals; 2 (two) silver medals and one bronze medal in the National level kick boxing event.

Karam Shyam, MLA of Langathabal AC and Laisharam Joy, President of PTWA attended the felicitation function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
