Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association observes Patriots' Day

Imphal, August 13 2022: Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur (HLTTA) paid homage to Bir Tikendrajit, Thangal General, Paona Brajabashi and all fallen heroes of Anglo-Manipuri war, 1891 on the occasion of Patriots' Day today at Thang-Ta Maheikhol at Yumnam Huidrom.

The commemorative programme was attended by Huidrom Premkumar Singh, president, Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur; Khuraijam Loken, MLA Wangoi AC and Thounaojam Priyokumar, former secretary of Thang-Ta Federation of India as functional president, chief guest and guest of honour, said HLTTA in a release.

The programme witnessed artists and officials of Thang-Ta Maheikol paying Thang-Ta salutation and floral tributes to the heroes of the land who fought against British in the Anglo-Manipuri war and made supreme sacrifices for the sake of motherland, the release said.

Huidrom Premkumar, noted the importance of recalling our brave forefathers at the occasion.

The release also quoted Premkumar as saying, "Our responsibility does not end at paying tributes to the brave souls.

What we need is to keep alive their valour, love for the Nation, dedication to make Manipur an eminent, prosperous and harmonious State" .
