L Rajbapu Memorial Jr Volleyball Tournament to begin today

Imphal, March 13 2018: The 5th L Rajbapu Sharma Memorial State Level Junior Boy's Cash Prize Volleyball Tournament 2018 organised by Young Men Development Organisation, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Leikai, Heirangoithong under the supervision of All Manipur Volleyball Association will begin tomorrow at Heirangoithong Volleyball ground.

The tournament which carries Rs 20,000 for the winners and Rs 10,000 for the runners up will feature 8 teams clubbed into 2 groups.

Two group winners from each group after league rounds will advance into knock out stages for the top honours.

YMDO, Heirangoithong; BAKHE VC, Sanakeithel; SDC-B, Samurou and NYVA-B, Naorem are clustered in the Group A while SDC-A, Samurou; NYDC, Khaidem; NYVA-A, Naorem and MIKHYA, Mayang Imphal will compete in the Group B .

The inaugural function of this tournament will be attended by Soibam Subhaschandra, MLA Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC, Samukcham Nandakumar Singh, president, All Manipur Volleyball Association and Dr Yumnam Tomba Singh, MS (ENT), Asst Prof, JNIMS, chairman, organising committee, YMDO as presidium members.

Meanwhile, All Manipur Volleyball Association (AMVA) has released the names of the officials who will officiate in this tournament.

The officials named for the tournament are; Th Romeo Singh, international referee; L Ranjit Singh, National referee; K Chaothoi Singh, State referee and M Ranjan Singh, State referee.

A press statement released by AMVA also instructed the officials named for the tournament to report to the secretary of YMDO by 2 pm tomorrow.
