Leaders ASSA end Tbl Super Divn League campaign with 1-1 draw

Imphal, November 12 2021: Runaway leaders ASSA, Sangaiyumpham capped their Lambamayum Memcha Devi Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament campaign today at Thoubal Kshetrileikai ground with a 1-1 draw against SWYC,Charangpat.

It may be noted that ASSA beat YDC (4-0), RPU (2-0), DUC (6-0) and SYDA (2-1) before the Covid pandemic interrupted the 7-team tournament being organised by the District Football Association Thoubal.

ASSA then cruised to their fifth win beating WYFC 3-1 to mark the return of district level football after the pandemic break on November 7.Spirit ASSA were first to break the deadlock today as well with Maner Khan finding the target in the 32nd minute but L Lemba of SWYC drew level in the 40th minute.

Despite efforts, the two sides failed to find the winner and eventually ended up sharing a point each.

WYFC, Wangjing will play YDC, Khoirom in the next league match tomorrow at the same venue.
