Kang tourney: Yaiskul Kangkhut-C wins

Jiribam, January 08 2014: Yaiskul Kangkhut-C has lifted the trophy of 9th Players' Trophy League cum Knock-out Kang Tournament, 2013-14 by defeating Yaiskul Kangkhut-A by 28-21 points in the final match of the tournament played at Kalimai Mandop here today.

In all 10 teams participated in the tournament which was organised by Yaiskul Kangkhut, Imphal under the sponsorship of All Jiribam Sports Association (AJSA) .

The champion Yaiskul Kangkhut-C was awarded Rs a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the runners up team got Rs 7000. Two players of the winning team namely O Jugindro, who successfully hit 14 Lamtha, and Y Inaocha Singh, who successfully struck down 21 Chekfei, were also respectively honoured with the reward of Best Lamtha and Best Chekphei of the match.

The final match cum valedictory function of the tournament was attended by Th Ibomcha Singh, Upa-Adhaksha of Imphal East Zilla Parishad as Chief Guest; M Brajakanta Singh, President of All Jiribam Sport Association (AJSA) as functional President while L Brajamani Sharma of Yaiskul Kangkhut, Imphal as Guest of Honour.
