DFA Thoubal through to final in Junior Inter-District Football

Imphal, December 07 2017: District Football Association Thoubal enjoyed a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Imphal West District Football Association in the last Group B league match to storm into the final of the 29th Boys’ Junior Inter-District Football Tournament 2017 .

The tournament featuring five districts divided into two groups is organised by the All Manipur Football Association at the Khuman Lampak Artificial Turf Ground .

DFA Thoubal had also won the first encounter in the tournament by 2-1, leaving the Imphal West team to inevitably won today’s match by a margin of two goals to secure a spot in the final match .

However the Thoubal team dominated the match all along today.

Md Aruwas started the attack scoring the first goal in the 28th minute and Sh Dhanabir added another one in the 30th minute.

Imphal West DFA managed to get a relief in the 41st minute as M Shital of DFA Thoubal scored an own goal .

Then DFA netted the goals at regular intervals leaving no room for the Imphal West team to come back to the game.

Kh Yuremba (45′, 88′) scored a brace to complete the domination while helping his team storm into the final .

In the first match that was won by DFA Thoubal, Yuremba had scored one of the two goals for the team.
