Imphal, November 06 2024: The Manipur Armwrestling Association (MAWA) today felicitated the State athletes and officials who represented India at the Asian International Armwrestling Cup which was held in Mumbai from 19 to 27 October.

The programme was held at EGC Complex in Singjamei this afternoon with L Sarat, president MAWA and L Deben , vice president MAWA attending the event as presidium members.

Notably, Manipur's Thounaojam Nicholas won a gold medal in the sub-junior boys 70 kg event as Gurumayum Rohit Sharma bagged a silver medal in the junior boys 65 kg category and Thangjam Lamyanba finished 4th.Lousembam Chitreshwor led the team as coach and A Vivekananda Sharma as team official while K Saratchandra officiated at the championship at the event as a referee.
